Hi guys, at the moment I've been using the MSSIAH. And almost everything works fine!
But I just can't get midi to work. I've been trying a Midi keyboard and ableton Live.
In ableton Live I send midi signals to Channel 1. But nothing appears on the Monosynth.
I'm guessing I'm not doing something right. But I dunno.
Trying to read the manual again, see if I can make this work.
Anyone have some advice or hints?
Mac OSX, Ableton Live 8 and using Mbox.

Sorry to waste your time, I forgot to put it in MIDI mode :S
Gawd I feel stupid...
Well the manual helped me so... Just missed that part.

We could not get it to work either. Well, we could get a clock from the MPC but that was about it.
Are there particular settings that will only enable midi to work successfully?
We had the midi channels correct and the cable routing correct as well.
Any ideas?
Does it have to do with turning SID 1 off and SID 2 On?
Thanks!

I think that the SID2 get's it's data from the SID 1. So yeah, SID 1 has to be on I guess.

Hi,
Midi was working fine for me (using an E-Mu Xboard 25 keyboard) but now it doesn't. Keyboard works fine with other stuff. Tried different midi channels to be shure... SID is fine as I can use the C64 keyboard to play notes in Monosynth mode... Any clue ?

Hi again,
I tried the MIDI TEST with my Xboard 25 keyboard and it's working fine (notes appear)... But still noting with MonoSynth or Bassline ! Works with C64 keyboard but not with MIDI keyboard. What am I missing?

Hello everybody! I'm a complete midi/C64/MSSIAH n00b.
I have a microKORG's midi out plugged into the MSSIAH. I have them both set to channel 1 but can't get the midi keyboard to do anything. everything works fine with the C64 and the joystick; I just can't get the microKORG to do anything in MSSIAH.
Am I just doing it completely, totally wrong? I'm a complete first timer when it comes to this stuff.

What program do you use? Sequencer? Did you test the SID and the instrument, you use, without midi first? Did you put the "MIDI keyboard" option on? Checked further options from the korg?

I'm an idiot! didn't put the "MIDI Keyboard" option on.
I'll be coming back A LOT in the next couple of weeks as I learn this stuff
Thanks!!!!

As did Spazi and tupinamba in this very thread!
For future members: Enabling the MIDI operation option will enable MIDI operation.

I had a similar experience! Took my newly modded C64C to a friends home studio to show him how cool a C64 is for making cracking tunes, switch on - no screen it's broken!!! checks VGA connections and monitor, then.......
NO, erm .............I had forgotten to plug the power cord in so methinks I am a bigger idiot lol
