oscillator sticking

hi all,

i've noticed a little problem with my sid2sid unit. when i play the c64 or test the DCOs on the diagnostics screen, i find that the note continues to play at a very low volume even after the key or the test tone is released. the tone is really quite but it's screwing up playing the c64 when on polyphonic mode.

what would cause the DCO not to turn off, or receive the release signal?

Re: oscillator sticking

Check if your sids are sitting properly in the sockets.

Re: oscillator sticking

hi, cheers for the response.

yes they're sitting firmly in place, however i've got one of those annoying motherboards with the sid next to the big heat sink, so at this moment the sid2sid board is connected by wires soldered on the legs of the IC socket of sid 1. so it is a possibilty that once of the wires inserted into the main ic holder on the board isn't inserted correctly.

http://www.tonyblack.org/welcome/welcom … achine=sid specs on the sid station. also the instrument editor in the mssiah sequencer states DCO when you select a waveform.

i believe the osc are digital and filter is analog
