Just trying to get the new MSSIAH rumor away from the midi interface thread..

December 5, 2007: MSSIAH - Prophet64 successor to be released Q1 2008!
This is an official announcement of the successor to the Prophet64 Cartridge: MSSIAH - Midi Sid Software Integrated Applications and Hardware.
The cartridge contains Prophet64 software upgrades as well as a new killer music application and an integrated midi interface.
Full scale production is expected to start in quarter 1, 2008. More info will be posted on the Mssiah site later on.
Must say: great acronym
So far, firestARTer stated he has nothing to do with the integrated MIDI interface design.
I'm wondering if it will be an user port midi interface at all, since "integrated" points a little to the oldschool expansion port design (cart + midi together, like the Supertrack ROM maybe?!?)
And how about that new killer music app? Allright.. ready to speculate once again

Actually I disagree; Sequencer seemed to be the killer for me when it was announced but meanwhile I'd prefer a Notator style pattern sequencer much over the Cubase graphical arrange. But maybe that's just me, using mostly the grooveboxes out of the suite anyways...

It's a trap!
my god! its the future!

I wonder if there will be integrated software to essentially turn any MSSIAH equipped C64 into a MIDIbox or SidStation style synth? I'm assuming it's entirely possible?...
'Killer music app'. What the hell could that be?! Maybe it's a tracker!
Hahaha... good one, Tonka!!
However that midi theory of yours sounds more logical. I'm sure there's a kick *ss midi implementation lurking in there..
Tonka, you forgot "one button to solve world starvation and one to capture Usama bin Laden"...
I'm pissed off too... my p64 addiction just got worse!!
PS: Tonka, the new cartridge contains Iranian plutonium.... so i've heard... (don't tell anyone!)
Yeah interesting development
Maybe it's an upgrade.
I would hope so, considering how much work we've all put into the scene (Firestarter especially)

damn GREAT !!! I am still just scratching the potential of P64 and now a new gadget wowowowowo though I HOPE that the P64 will be fully compatible with this new cart.....hehe brings back memories of my bud bringing his Amiga 500 back to the store for repair when his C64 programs wouldnt run on it !! man i still laugh at that one

I just got some extraterrestrial information:
As far as i know, some of your prayers have been heared.
Even with the new integrated Midi-Interface, the 'old' one is still usefull. So no need to worry.
The new Mssiah is coming!!

No such thing as Iranian plutonium, M8. Only USA plutonium that Bush sold for some pocket money!!!
Holy crap! The government is in on the Mssiah too!!
Hang on, someone's at the door... hmm.. two men dressed in black suits, wonder what they want...?
*connection lost*

if there is overlap, how about a cartridge upgrade? sans the midiface?
What do you mean by overlap?

I assumed by your statement that the new mssiah midi woundlt be as feature rich as the firestarter and only support basic midi?
Its hard to talk with such vaugeness! I probably wont get one unless there is a some killer app-nes going on. Im guessing a midines style synth mode along with updates to the other apps.

i'm thinking that with the whole thing being designed around the MIDI interface itself, everything should be built into the software. i'm guessing parameters will be linked to CCs, so no worries about pots maybe? SDR/MIDI saves should be all set. also, it should be a 'real' MIDI interface, not the odd sync24>note conversion that we're dealing with now. should be great...

Maybe it is something like this. But SDR will definitely only be possible via the Userport and so my Midi-Interface is still usable.

Haha! Thanks, but to be honest, firestARTer support is often very slooowwww.
:-)
Expect everyone to be busy with other things than P64, too.
I still think a Forum like this is the best support.

Then there's the whole issue of 8BV's complete lack of customer support compared to FirestARTer's (usually) same day response...
You're not being fair Tonka, they've always been very helpful to me... (oh, just forgot I warned them about you!! )
is there any picture of this MSSIAH?
