Hi
I know there is already a lot of posts about pots and believe me i think i have read them all. I have used the schematics from the getlofi.com website.. link here: http://www.getlofi.com/uploaded_images/ … 766055.JPG
It worked to start with but now without touching or soldering anything new only one out of the 4pots works. any ideas why this may be? seems very odd that it started working and now simply doesnt. any help greatly appreciated.
cheers, tom

yes these schematics are correct and works for me ...so the only thing that come up in my mind is that maybe your soldering job is not good...it takes 6 hours of zen meditation before every soldering session!!!
double check and good luck!

I've never used that config so can't say ..!
Have never had any probs with the other single GND config.
Actually you might want to try swapping out the SID, that has the A/D converter in it, and if that's fried you won't get proper pot action.

??? R64 can you please post here your configuration please? i'm curious to see how you have connect the pots...cheers!

I use this one
as pin 7 is shared between the ports, you can use a single SPST switch to turn them off and on.
Or use a dpdt and have an indicator LED.

I wonder... in the getting started manual of MSSIAH (and prolly also in the P64 one), its schematics of connecting pots says +5V on pin 7 and 8 .. I'm not sure what this means? I've never experimented with pots before, but is this one of the three legs of the pot, or should one use external power source, like from a battery?
Sorry for possible dumb question..
I think I understand the schems of the below posted link better than the one in the manual...

That means that one pin supplies 5v and the others need to be connected to it with a pot in the middle. As the pot changes the voltage being sent to 7 and 8, your knob on the screen turn.

Ah! You mean that the C64's joystick port supplies 5 v on one of the pins?
Thanks for reply!

Okay, thanks! I've ordered four pots now, so I'm going to make a little potentiometer box
